Rodrigo’s Mexican Grill has shared exciting news that its Anaheim Hills location will undergo significant renovations. According to a press release, the 5665 E Santa Ana Canyon Rd. outpost just closed the business for six months to focus on construction work.
The eatery paused operations April 1st and is now in the permitting phase, President Rod Fraser, third-generation owner, told What Now OC. He said the plans include adding windows to open up the space, replacing the booths, updating the flooring, and more.
Rod told the publication he is proud to be part of a longstanding business in the community, which his grandfather started and then his dad ran for many years. He pointed out that they have many long-term employees as well, with managers who have been with the company for five decades.
First opened as Don Jose Mexican Cafe in 1977, the eatery then changed to Rodrigo’s and has since opened up 10 locations. Others are in Orange, Anaheim, Tustin, Laguna Hills, Huntington Beach, Corona, Riverside, Temecula, and Montclair. The brand is looking to expand to Arizona in a few years, El Restaurante stated.
