Loudoun County diners, get ready for the summer of bagels. Construction is underway on DMV-favorite bakery BKD Bagels next location, and management anticipates opening when the heat kicks in, reports local media outlet The Burn.

The bagelry’s new home at 23634 Strickland Drive is currently being outfitted with fresh plumbing, electric, and walls, among other alterations. BKD’s owners expect the renovations to be completed at some point in May, with an opening to follow relatively shortly thereafter. Ashburn carb fanatics can look forward to enjoying a fresh, delicious bagel in late May or early June.

The Ashburn shop will be BKD’s fourth location, joining bakeries in Purcellville, Leesburg, and Fort Evans.

BKD’s menu features a wide array of bagels, ranging from beloved classics like the everything to more unexpected options like jalapeno-cheddar. Guests may choose to complement their bread with one of the concept’s delicious cream cheeses or, for a more filling option, to sample one of BKD’s sandwiches. The chain even invites visitors to craft their own sammies, choosing their bread, protein, cheese, spreads, and extras.
