Floataway Cafe will close just before Christmas after 25 years in business.
The restaurant from acclaimed Atlanta chef Anne Quatrano and her husband, Clifford Harrison, announced the closure on Facebook and Instagram. Floatway Cafe is located at 1123 Zonolite Road.
“It has been an honor to serve our community at Floataway over the years, as well as work with an incredible and talented group of chefs and service professionals,” says the social media post.
“Our new and final menus, skillfully and lovingly prepared for you by our executive chef Faye Poone, will be available through December 23rd on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.”
Quatrano told the AJC that they got a new landlord in the past year and their lease is coming to end. “It just might be time,” Quatrano told the newspaper.
The Shumacher Group, an Atlanta restaurant real estate brokerage firm, recently listed Floataway Cafe for sale for $115,000, saying the name, menu and concept can be included in a deal.
The Floataway team did tease that something new could be coming.
“Don’t worry – this isn’t the end. We’ve got some fun ideas in the works,” says a comment on the Instagram post.
Quatrano and Harrison are also behind Bacchanalia and W.H. Stiles Fish Camp.
