The biggest name in fast-casual chicken has been given the official blessing to bring its cuisine to a South Jersey town. Raising Cane’s has received approval from the Brick Township Board of Adjustment to demolish an existing building and rise like a delicious poultry phoenix from the ashes, reports Patch.
The chicken magnate will be taking over the lot currently occupied by Quaker Steak and Lube. That 8,148 square foot building will be demolished and in its wake a 3,333 square foot restaurant will be erected. Raising Cane’s will have two drive-thru lanes for customers on-the-go and 37 parking spaces for those coming inside.
This particular Raising Cane’s storefront has been in the works for quite some time. Even so, it is impossible to project an opening date. It seems likely that Brick diners still have quite a wait for hot, made-to-order chicken, as work has not yet begun to remove Quaker Steak and Lube, and that must be completed before construction can even begin on Cane’s.
Raising Cane’s has been serving up its small but powerful menu since it entered the fast-casual scene in Louisiana in 1996. The chain has been in heavy expansion mode over the past few years, and has reached a staggering 849 US storefronts.
