A popular Mediterranean franchise will open their doors to an eighth location in Michigan.

2941 Mediterranean Street Food is launching at 291 Haggerty Road in Commerce Township, according to the company’s website.

The restaurant is all about build-your-own Mediterranean meals, offering bowls and pita wraps filled with grilled chicken, beef or falafel. The creations can be topped with fresh Mediterranean staples like hummus, beets, cucumbers and chickpeas. Whether spicy or sweet, a wide range of sauces adds just the right flavor.

If customizing a meal isn’t preferred, diners can choose from options like flatbread pizzas and Chef’s Favorites, such as Aleppo Chicken Thigh, Tandoori Chicken Breast or Arook Fritters.

2941 also offers dairy and gluten free options.

Founded by Detroit restaurateurs Joe and Rosalie Vicari, the two rely on “authentic cuisine, impeccable service and a warm, inviting atmosphere,” according to their website.

The Vicaris operate Joe Vicari Restaurant Group, a Michigan-based hospitality company best known for Andiamo Italian Steakhouse, a Detroit staple since 1983. The group’s portfolio includes several other concepts, including the upscale Joe Muer Seafood and The Statler, a modern American bistro.

With 2941 Mediterranean Street Food slated to open in spring 2025, the Vicari’s continue to cement their status as major players in Michigan’s dining scene.
