According to Berkeleyside, Oakland-based concept Kilovolt Coffee is relocating from its longtime home at 1829 Mandela Parkway to a new location in the city.
Alongside a video of the concept’s owner, Ethan Ashley, touring the new space, the post’s caption states, “UPDATE ON KILOVOLT 2.0! Here’s a sneak peek of the new location from the boss man himself. We will be sharing more clips of the space and behind the scenes of moving in as we make progress. None of which would be possible without every single one of you guys. Thank you for coming along with us as we venture into a new season of making coffee and friends.”
Coming to 1746 13th Street, the cafe will be neighbored by establishments such as the grocery store Family Market, the eatery Kojokojo Fusion, and the East African restaurant Swahili Spot.
What Now San Francisco reached out to Ashley to inquire about his plans for the spot, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the business offers a brief introduction to the concept on its website: “Kilovolt Coffee is founded on the principles of independence, ingenuity, community, and ecology. We are a company that strives for excellence while believing that every employee can be themselves at work.”
“We appreciate our customers for choosing an independent retailer… We believe in a brighter future for tomorrow for everyone, we will get there by improving every year,” the statement continues.
An opening date has not been announced yet. Stay tuned for updates.
