Antonia Murdoch and Megan Wettlaufer, co-founders of CB Coffee Club, are planning to expand their mobile coffee business beyond its current summer setup in Sauble Beach.
The company currently operates out of a refurbished 1962 Globetrotter Airstream trailer at 316 Main Street in Sauble Beach, serving customers daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the summer season. Murdoch and Wettlaufer launched the business while pursuing university degrees in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s program, respectively. Now, according to BlogTO, the duo hopes to open one or more brick-and-mortar locations and potentially launch a fleet of Airstream trailers to serve coffee in multiple locations.
CB Coffee Club launched in 2024 as a mobile coffee cart serving farmers’ markets and pop-up events in Ontario and Montreal. The business started with a simple menu featuring nitro cold brew and baked goods. As they expanded, the menu grew to include seasonal specialties, such as a Strawberry Matcha made with Miller’s Dairy milk and a S’Mores Latte topped with whipped cream and graham cracker crumbles. The founders self-funded the venture and handled all aspects of the operation themselves, from bookkeeping to staffing, overcoming early financial and operational challenges.
Gaining traction through TikTok and Instagram, CB Coffee Club’s behind-the-scenes videos have garnered over 100,000 views, enhancing visibility and attracting more customers to their Sauble Beach location. Building on this momentum, the company upgraded to a shiny Airstream trailer for the summer season, aiming to become a staple in the local community. Now the two owners hope to expand this business even more in the future.
