The Powder Room Champagne Bar’s space just got a little bubblier in Tacoma’s Stadium District.
Last year, the champagne bar, owned by Cameron Gilmore and Kia Smith, moved into 12 N Tacoma Ave., joining Gilman House Room 428, operated by Jason and Robyn Alexander.
At the time, both businesses arranged a sublease with a kitchen-sharing setup, allowing the gin-focused Gilman House to downsize into a smaller, speak-easy style space with a separate entrance, according to The News Tribune.
With the lease up for renewal this year, the Alexanders decided it was time to move on.
“It ran its five-year course,” Alexander told the outlet. “We were happy. We had a good time there, learned a lot about building out, running two different spots in one space. It was a really good learning opportunity.”
The Powder Room plans to stay and is currently negotiating its own lease agreement.
What Now Seattle reached out to the champagne bar to ask about plans for the extra space left by Gilman House’s departure.
The Powder Room launched to fill what the owners saw as a gap in Tacoma—a meeting place for friends, a refreshing oasis, a brunch hot spot and a space for celebration.
The interior is described as swanky and playful, with several photo-worthy features. The cocktail menu includes creative drinks with humorous names, each available in a bubbly version. Weekend brunch is served all day on Saturdays and Sundays, featuring a live DJ and themed beverages.
Guests can expect interactive options like tableside make-your-own Bloody Marys and espresso martini flights. The lunch and dinner menus offer small bites, while dinner service will also include pop-up collaborations with local chefs.
The Powder Room’s hours are Wednesday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
