Four Seasons plans to open a new hotel and private residences in Charleston’s historic district in partnership with Strategic Property Partners.

The eight-story Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Charleston will include 139 guest rooms and 36 branded residences. It will be within walking distance of popular attractions including King Street, the Charleston City Market and the Gibbes Museum of Art, according to the press release.

Developers say the project will combine Charleston’s historic charm with the luxury amenities and service Four Seasons is known for. Plans include four restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool with private cabanas, a full-service spa, a hydrothermal fitness center, retail space and 7,000 square feet of event space.

“This is an exciting moment for Charleston, and we are honored to partner with Four Seasons to bring this extraordinary development to life,” Strategic Property Partners CEO Josh Taube said in a statement. “Known for its rich history, timeless character and renowned culinary scene, Charleston sets the standard for exceptional hospitality. The arrival of Four Seasons will elevate this legacy.”

The property is expected to be completed by 2028.
