Yorba Linda is getting a sweet new addition: The Classic Cupcake, a custom cupcake shop founded by Sarah Urzua. The concept is preparing to open its first brick-and-mortar storefront at 5109 Richfield Rd, inside Richfield Plaza, according to a city development alert.

Urzua began the business over 14 years ago in Minnesota as a mobile cupcake cart for weddings and events, and said in a recent video online that she is “really excited to be bringing the same model to our storefront”. It will be one of the first of its kind in Orange County

Customers will be able to pick their cake, frosting, and up to three toppings. Cupcake pricing starts at $36 per dozen for single-flavor standard or mini cupcakes, with specialty and custom fondant-decorated orders ranging from $39 to $52 per dozen.

A plan review was already submitted to the Orange County Health Department, according to public records. The shop joins a growing lineup of upcoming food establishments in Yorba Linda, including Broken Yolk Café, Sourdough & Co., Jin Cook – Authentic Korean Soul Food, and The Artisan.
