Founded by Julia Kolta, inspired by her grandmother, Nonna Adelina, Adelina Bar à Pâtes offers simple, authentic Italian pasta dishes made from fresh, high-quality ingredients, and it’s getting ready to open its first of two locations planned.
The first location is set to open next month at CF Fairview Pointe Claire, located at 6801 Trans-Canada Hwy in Pointe-Claire. A second location is planned for Ste-Catherine to open sometime in 2026, according to the company’s website. The concept grew from a family dream and a memorable summer in Greece, where Kolta and her family fell in love with a tiny pasta bar downtown. After years of balancing school, work, and other ventures, the family decided to turn their vision into reality last summer. With the help of an experienced restaurant team and a dedicated design crew, Adelina Bar à Pâtes came to life, honoring tradition and family.
“I’M OPENING MY FIRST RESTAURANT!” co-founder Julia Kolta shared on LinkedIn. “A dream that’s been with us for years is finally coming to life: ADELINA BAR À PÂTES is opening this August! Since last August, my sister, my dad, my boyfriend, and I have been pouring our hearts into this project — inspired by my grandmother, Nonna Adelina. This isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a tribute. A family story. And most of all, a dream turned reality.”
Adelina Bar à Pâtes takes inspiration from Nonna Adelina Sorice’s Italian heritage, rooted in the village of Avellino near Naples. Nonna Adelina learned to cook without formal training, relying on her mother’s hands and family recipes, with a passion for bringing loved ones together over simple, comforting meals.
The restaurant’s menu is designed around fresh pasta made daily using semolina flour, paired with signature sauces such as Alfredo, pesto, and tomato-basil, as well as proteins including homemade meatballs, pancetta, and chicken strips. Diners can customize their dishes or opt for Nonna’s ready-made recipes, such as Gigi alla Nonna and Pollo Alfredo.
Ingredients play a key role in delivering authentic flavors. The San Marzano tomatoes used for sauces come from volcanic soils in Campania, known for their sweetness and rich flavor. Cheese is freshly grated from a Parmesan wheel, providing a nutty, buttery finish.
