Central Pennsylvania may not be the first place that comes to mind when diners are considering delicious Greek food, but a prolific family of restaurateurs is working hard to change that. Owned and operated by the Politsopoulos family, Yianni’s Gyros has been introducing the region to the flavors of Greece since 2022. The small but powerful chain currently has four locations and a food truck under its belt, but the Politsopoulos family has no intention of slowing their cooking; the entrepreneurs are preparing to launch a Yianni’s in Susquehanna Township, reports local media outlet Penn Live.

The Greek establishment will be taking over the space at 2258 Linglestown Road that previously housed a Subway. Co-owner John Politsopoulos anticipates needing around five months to turn the Blue Mountain Commons storefront into Yianni’s next home; he is hoping to be open and ready to feed customers by December.

Once open, the restaurant will have between six and ten tables, able to accommodate from 30 to 40 guests.

Yianni’s new home will feature the same menu offered at the existing locations. Of course the star is the titular gyro, however the restaurant also features souvlaki, moussaka, salads, and fries. Guests can indulge their sweeter impulses with a range of desserts including Greek favorite baklava.

Yianni’s is helmed by Politsopoulos, his wife, Amanda, and his parents, Chris and Maria Politsopoulos. The restaurant currently has two locations in York, one in Hershey, and another in Harrisburg.
