Wingstop, the fast-growing American chicken wing chain, is opening a new location at 42-44 King William Street in Downtown Hamilton.
Wingstop is in the process of opening a new site along Restaurant Row, with a second location also set to open on Hamilton Mountain inside the Lime Ridge Mall at 999 Upper Wentworth Street, according to UrbanCity. Both sites are part of Wingstop’s broader expansion across Ontario, backed by Canadian master franchisee JPK Capital. Known for its made-to-order wings and 11 signature flavours, the brand continues to strengthen its footprint in the province following multiple openings in the Greater Toronto Area.
When the new Hamilton locations open, customers can expect a menu focused on freshly prepared chicken wings, available in classic, boneless, or tender form, sauced and tossed in a variety of bold flavors like Lemon Pepper, Garlic Parmesan, and Mango Habanero. The lineup also includes crispy chicken sandwiches, hand cut seasoned fries, and house made ranch and bleu cheese dips.
Opening dates for both Hamilton locations have not been announced yet. However, they are part of a larger national rollout stemming from a 2021 master franchise agreement with JPK Capital to open 100 Wingstop locations across Canada over 10 years, according to a press release. The expansion began in Toronto and is focused on company owned stores, with no sub franchising involved.
Wingstop, founded in 1994 in Texas, operates over 2,200 locations worldwide, including at least a dozen in Canada. The company emphasizes a fast casual model centered around wings as the main menu item, positioning itself differently from traditional sports bars.
