The West Ashley location of La Bonne Franquette will officially discontinue service after August 31. The bistro announced its closure in a social media post. “Dear Friends, Many of you have already heard, but we wanted to officially thank you for the fabulous journey that you came on with us! Carly and Christophe Paume, known for their work with Christophe Artisan Chocolatier in downtown Charleston and on Ashley River Road, owned and operated the bistro. Carly said the decision followed careful consideration of several options.
She added that the closure reflects unexpected changes in their personal and professional journey. Carly also expressed her appreciation for the support and loyalty of patrons since the cafe’s very first day. The team thanked patrons for their support over the years.
The owners did not share a specific reason for the closure. The French-inspired spot, which opened in February 2023, served breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a selection of pastries and cocktails.
