After graduating college last spring, 22-year-old entrepreneur Jon-Henri Marlow is set to shake up Charleston’s drink scene with the upcoming debut of Soda House.

The dirty soda shop opens this summer at 1291 Folly Road.

“Dirty soda is becoming a super popular thing and I was like, ‘Wait, there’s no dirty soda shops in Charleston.’ That’s how it all started,” Marlow told What Now Charleston.

When it comes to the menu, customers can mix and match flavors to craft their own drinks.

“You’ll choose one of our bases–you could do water, sparkling water, coconut water or an energy drink as a base. Then you’ll choose whatever flavoring syrups you want. If you also want fruit puree, fresh fruit, frozen fruit, cream or popping boba pearl–it’s kind of just up to the customer,” Marlow said.

Behind the soda bar, the team will mix up drinks to order, giving customers the option to fill out a checklist of all the flavors and add-ins they want.

Marlow said his go-to dirty soda right now is a creamsicle blend made with orange soda and vanilla cream.

In addition to drinks, Soda House will treat guests to homemade mini chocolate chip cookies.

The shop features a color palette of dark blue, light blue and white, accented by LED lighting. A white wood wall to the left of the entrance displays the Soda House logo at its center. Inside the 1,200-square-foot space, three white tables with dark blue chairs offer seating for customers.

“I’m excited to get Soda House up and running, for people to try it and have a dedicated dirty soda shop in Charleston. It’s been a long time coming,” Marlow said.

Soda House officially debuts this August. For the latest updates, visit the shop’s website and follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
