Medford Square is about to get a fresh jolt of caffeine.
Localito Café, a long-awaited project from restaurateur brothers Alvaro and Andrés Sandoval, has finally peeled the brown paper from its 30 Riverside Avenue windows, according to a post within the Friends of Boston’s Hidden Restaurants Facebook group.
Alvaro briefly confirmed the news with What Now Boston but declined to share further details, noting that the opening is still several weeks away.
Though the brothers remain tight-lipped, a past Reddit post hints that the space—formerly home to Mystic Coffee Roaster—will channel a “Mexico City vibe,” which could mean imported beans, vibrant décor, and a menu infused with Latin flair.
Additionally, Localito’s long-dormant Instagram page was recently revived with a “coming soon!” bio, a sneak peek of the bright interior, and a link to the café’s website.
The Sandovals are no strangers to the restaurant industry. Alongside this new café, they also own El Tacuba on Salem Street and the popular local chain Tenoch Mexican.
Stay tuned for updates on Localito Café’s grand opening in Medford.
