RIMAP Hospitality has opened the AC Hotel by Marriott Ottawa Downtown, the first of three planned Marriott-branded properties in Ottawa, with each set to feature distinct on-site dining concepts.
Located at 201 Rideau Street in the ByWard Market district, the newly opened AC Hotel features 159 guest rooms and offers two food and beverage options: the AC Kitchen, serving a European-inspired breakfast, and the AC Lounge, which provides craft cocktails and tapas in the evening. The dining concept aligns with the AC brand’s global format and is positioned to cater to both business and leisure guests.
The second property, Moxy Ottawa Downtown, is scheduled to open in early 2026 at 126 York Street, according to Hotel Management. The hotel will include 221 guest rooms and over 300 apartment units in a mixed-use format. While specific dining details for the Moxy Ottawa Downtown have not yet been announced, the brand is known for its lobby-centered social spaces and 24/7 food and beverage service, including a bar that serves as the hotel’s check-in desk. It is expected to follow a similar model to the Moxy properties recently opened in Halifax and Montreal.
“At Moxy, we cultivate a social and playful atmosphere,” according to RIMAP Hospitality’s website. “Relax or connect with fellow travelers in our interactive lounge and library, where vibrant decor sets the stage for shared experiences and spontaneous fun. Indulge in handcrafted drinks and shareable plates at our lively bar, or grab a quick bite from our Grab and Go counter before exploring Ottawa’s vibrant offerings.”
The third project, Renaissance Hotel and OROS Apartments, is scheduled to open in spring 2027 at 400 Albert Street. The development will include 221 guest rooms and approximately 250 rental apartments. The building will also include a restaurant and a bar, making it a multifaceted development in the city’s core.
All three hotels are part of RIMAP Hospitality’s broader investment in mixed-use developments in Ottawa. Each project integrates hotel accommodations with rental apartments and is expected to contribute to the city’s hospitality and dining landscape.
More details on dining programs at the upcoming Moxy and Renaissance properties are expected closer to their respective openings.
