Hattie B’s Hot Chicken is planning a new location, filed permits indicate. It appears to be heading to 1206 Gallatin Ave. in East Nashville.

It currently has six locations throughout the Greater Nashville region, including Lower Broadway, Melrose, Midtown, West Nashville, the Nashville International Airport and Franklin.

Father-and-son team Nick Bishop Sr. and Nick Bishop Jr. launched Hattie B’s in Midtown Nashville in 2012 after experimenting with Nashville hot chicken recipes in Bishop Sr.’s restaurant Bishop’s Meat & 3 in Franklin.

“Our goal from day one has been to offer authentic Nashville hot chicken served with a little style and a lot of hospitality in a fun, high-energy environment,” the Hattie B’s website states. “We know communities, families and friends thrive on love, hospitality and great food. That’s why we’re in this.”

Now, they have expanded to multiple states, with a spot in Alabama, two in Atlanta, one in Las Vegas and two in Texas. There is also another Tennessee spot in Memphis. Additional locations are in development in Chicago, Austin and Huntsville, Ala.

The menu features Nashville hot chicken with a spectrum of spice levels, ranging from “zero burn” to “enthusiast heat levels.” Chicken is served in a variety of ways, from sandwiches to tenders to chicken on the bone. Other menu items include Southern sides like baked beans, bacon cheddar grits, coleslaw and Southern greens, as well as desserts including banana pudding and peach cobbler. There is also a limited cocktail menu.

As of now, an opening timeline for the forthcoming location in East Nashville remains unclear.
