Every city believes its pizza is some of the best in the world; for DC it’s true. The District is home to Slice & Pie, named one of the best pizzas globally by 50 Top Pizza, and luckily for residents, they’re about to get another opportunity to enjoy one of the celebrated pies. Giulio Adriani, owner and chef extraordinaire, has signed a lease for a new 1750 H Street NW storefront, reports the Washington Business Journal.

The 1,200-square foot space will provide Adriani with a unique opportunity; half of the real estate will serve as a restaurant and the other will provide Adriani with room to prepare dough to distribute to Slice & Pie’s other locations. While this may not seem like the most exciting development to diners, the dough production space will be hugely beneficial to the pizzeria; Adriani explains: “It will help me with the consistency across the shops, because, if every shop is making its own dough, sooner or later you will run into consistency issues, because when you speak about dough, it’s alive, it moves.”

The new location will require some small renovations and does not yet have a precise opening date on the books. However Adriani anticipates the pizzeria being up and running relatively soon, with a projected opening of some point in September.

Slice & Pie has earned massive acclaim since its debut in 2022. The 50 top Pizza USA contest named it the second-best pie in the country this year-no small feat. Adriani’s thirty years of experience and classical training straight from Naples have made him a culinary force to be reckoned with.
