New food hall The Peacherie is bringing several concepts to Atlanta, including Brasserie Lundie and a new concept from Chef Jack Bai. Now, Discourse Eatery is joining the lineup — and the team has plans for growth in the coming years.
The concept, helmed by friends Miles Davies and Jordan Bynum, will center around the idea of communal dining.
“Since COVID, it’s been different at the dinner table and at restaurants,” Davies told What Now Atlanta. “People are talking less and are more into their phones out of habit. Our biggest goal is to bring the conversation back to the table while also introducing some elevated Southern cuisine.”
To stimulate conversation, Discourse Eatery will hand out conversation cards with questions covering topics ranging from politics to pop culture. They will be designed to get people thinking and sharing ideas.
The spot features an upscale but welcoming atmosphere that places emphasis on quality food and conversation. Menu bites include fried green tomatoes with cherry tomato jam and a pimento cheese dip with housemade crostinis. Entrees will include items like honey-smoked chicken and BLTs made with maple honey bacon and a goat cheese spread.
The location at The Peacherie is on track to open this month, and Davies said they have plans for growth in the coming years. While they are launching in a food hall this year, the team will be searching for a standalone brick-and-mortar to open up in the next couple years. They are looking at the Midtown area as well as locations in the South Atlanta region like South Fulton and College Park.
“The plan for the brand is growth,” Davies said. “Hopefully within the next few years we can start looking at brick-and-mortar to bring our full vision to life of communal dining where it’s a shared space where people can collaborate while being professional and personal.”
