Stumpy’s Hatchet House is set to open its first location in California, in Santa Clarita, by the end of 2025. According to the Type 41 liquor license, which is for an on-sale beer and wine-eating place, the hatchet-throwing eatery will open doors at  26517 Carl Boyer Dr.

The new Santa Clarita spot will likely feature a similar concept to Woody’s Cafe, which is featured at other Stumpy’s locations, according to their website. Woody’s Cafe provides pizza, cheesesteak egg rolls, chicken tenders, and boneless wings. They also serve beer, wine, water, and soft drinks.

The company is run by Stuart and Kelly Joserger, along with their friends Mark and Trish Oliphant. Jennifer Willstead and Brad Willstead are listed as the franchise owners on the liquor license for the Santa Clarita location. The two were not immediately available for comment.

Since its inception in April 2016, Stumpy’s has quickly grown.

Though this will be the first Stumpy’s Hatchet House in the Golden State, there are already more than 30 franchises in the country. Their website shows that they’re expecting to open four more, including the Santa Clarita location.

Beyond good eats and fine drinks, the entertainment destination is a hatchet thrower’s dream. It hails itself as the first hatchet-throwing venue in the US. Stumpy’s also offers private parties and events!

While there’s no word yet on the official opening date, guests can likely expect to see Stumpy’s Hatchet House throwin’ hatchets and slinging up good eats in Santa Clarita by the end of 2025.
