A Truckee-born Italian restaurant is heading down the hill.
Great Gold Modern American Italian Kitchen will soon bring its farm-to-table flavors to Roseville, moving into the former site of La Provence Restaurant & Terrace at 110 Diamond Creek Place, according to recently filed corporate records for Great Gold Roseville LLC. La Provence closed last September after two decades of serving upscale French fare.
Chef-Owner Brandon Kirksey confirmed the expansion with What Now Sacramento but declined to share further details, noting that updates will be provided closer to opening.
While details are scarce for now, the upcoming Great Gold outpost is likely to stay true to the original, offering a menu full of rustic Italian favorites. Expect scratch-made pastas, brick-oven pizzas, and wood-grilled meats, all crafted with peak-season produce and locally-sourced ingredients from small farms and ranches.
Highlights include the heirloom tomato panzanella, hand-cut tagliatelle bolognese, hot salami pizza, and grilled whole branzino. The drink menu features classic cocktails, zero-proof sips, and an “ever-evolving” wine list that showcases both Italian vintages and California-grown Italian varietals. For dessert, guests can look forward to staples like tiramisu and affogato.
Kirksey, who also serves as CEO at Great Gold Hospitality Group, co-founded the company alongside Bay Area entrepreneur David Steele. In addition to Great Gold, the group also operates Tangerine French Bistro in North Lake Tahoe.
