San Antonio’s dining scene continues to expand as new restaurants open their doors in the city. In September 2025, six new names, including BBQ joints, seafood spots, and taco houses, opened for patrons.
Fall Brings Exciting Restaurant Openings to San Antonio
From the longtime burger restaurant Fatburger to the debut fast food spot Burgers VS Tacos, a range of eateries launched in San Antonio, just in time for fall.
1. Fatburger & Buffalo’s Express

Fatburger, the popular burger chain, opened its newest San Antonio location this September. Named Fatburger & Buffalo’s Express, the outlet opened with grand opening offers, music, giveaways, milkshakes, and crispy onion rings.
The San Antonio location is open Monday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Menu highlights at Fatburger & Buffalo’s Express include turkey burgers, boneless wings, chili cheese dog, and more.
2. Burgers VS Tacos

Burgers VS Tacos opened in San Antonio, offering bold flavors and a fun dining experience. The new burger-and-taco concept announced its September opening on Instagram.
Patrons can visit for quick bites of Kung Fu Burger, Taekwondo Beef Taco, Capoeira Steak Taco, Sumo Burger, and more. Burgers VS Tacos is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
3. Lil’ Bros BBQ Shack

This pitmaster pop-up offers a backyard-style setup where San Antonio families and Spurs fans can enjoy slow-smoked meats and BBQ sides. Lil’ Bros BBQ Shack announced its debut at The Rock at La Cantera through an Instagram post.
The pop-up, led by Chef Jason Dady, is inspired by the popular Two Bros BBQ. Smoked Half Chicken, Pulled Pork, Kiolbassa Sausage, and Beef Brisket are some highlight items. San Antonio patrons can head to the BBQ place from Thursday through Sunday, with hours of operation from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
4. Mambo Seafood

Texas-based seafood and coastal cuisine chain Mambo Seafood opened its Las Palmas location this September. Mambo Seafood took to Instagram to announce its grand opening.
The 1996-launched seafood chain brings signature plates, famous Mambo rice, Pescadería, onshore, and more categories to its San Antonio outlet. Locals can stop by for hearty lunches and dinners.
5. Bussin’ Q

Bussin’ Q opened its first brick-and-mortar location on Lamar Street in San Antonio this September. The much-loved snack van has been delighting BBQ fans through its emphasis on flavor and community.
Bussin’ Q is welcoming diners at the latest San Antonio outlet from Tuesday through Sunday. The operating hours are from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The Lamar Street-based outlet will be closed on Mondays. Menu highlights include the Dinoritto, Wagyu Burger, and Brisket Mac and Cheese.
6. Tia’s Taco Hut

The Tex-Mex cuisine food chain opened the 14th Tia’s Taco Hut location last month. San Antonio locals were invited to the opening celebration through an Instagram post.
Tia’s Taco Hut is open Monday through Saturday from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Sundays, the hours are 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Whereas, the operating hours on Sundays are from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Menu highlights include Chicken Fajita Tacos and Cheese Enchiladas.
From smoked BBQ and fried rice to tacos and classic burgers, these new openings offer San Antonio diners a variety of flavors to enjoy this fall.
