It looks like a local winery and event venue could be turning into a restaurant with catering capabilities.
Jamshed James Aziz, owner of Rouge Winery Hall at 3206 Hood Franklin Rd, Suite A in Elk Grove, has applied for an on-sale general eating place license and a caterer’s permit with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. These licenses would allow the venue to serve full meals and alcoholic beverages on-site, as well as offer catering services for off-site events.
Founded in 2017, the venue currently operates as a winery and event space, hosting private parties, weddings, and outdoor community gatherings.
The space accommodates up to 200 people, provides tables and chairs, and can remain open until 2 a.m., though guests currently need to bring their own food and alcohol. The venue is now accepting bookings for 2025 and 2026 events.
Aziz could not be reached for comment at the time of publication, so stay tuned for updates as more details about Rouge Winery’s potential transition emerge.
