A popular Snohomish staple is getting a fresh spin.

Wayne and Lisa Mascotti, owners of Cathouse Pizza, are set to revive the former Fred’s Rivertown Alehouse space, paying tribute to the beloved original location.

Fred’s, which opened in the 1950s, was known for its single malt scotches, craft beer and hearty food.

The alehouse closed its doors last summer, sharing a farewell on Instagram, “Thank you to the amazing staff and the great guests that have made Fred’s home for so many. Keep in mind, that it’s not goodbye, it’s see you later.”

The Mascotti’s will reopen the spot as First Street Rivertown Eatery & Drinks.

“Cathouse is growing, and we’re bringing back an iconic legend to our awesome community! We’re taking over the beloved Fred’s as First St. Rivertown Eatery and Drinks – aka F.R.E.D.S. This isn’t just a reopening – it’s a celebration of community, history, and great food!” the pizza joint shared via Facebook.

The menu is still being crafted but will feature local favorites from Fred’s alongside new additions. The owners also recently secured a liquor license through the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board, according to business filings.

F.R.E.D.’S is seeking a dishwasher, prep cook, and line cook and plans to open this fall, though it has not announced an exact date. For updates, follow along on Instagram.

What Now Seattle reached out to the team, however, they have not yet responded. This article may be updated.
