Fujiwara Omakase is relocating from Renton to a new home at 10602 NE 9th Place in Bellevue.
The spot closed on June 29 to continue to develop an elevated dining experience and introduce a “new and improved” Fujiwara, according to an Instagram post.
“We appreciate your patience throughout this process and want to thank all of you that have reached out in anticipation. Please bear with us for a little longer as we continue to prepare for opening to provide all of our customers with the best experience possible,” the post read.
Omakase is a Japanese dining concept, often at sushi restaurants, where the chef selects the meal. Instead of ordering from a menu, diners allow the chef to craft a curated sequence of dishes, usually highlighting fresh, seasonal ingredients. The focus is on chef creativity, presentation and a multi-course experience.
Fujiwara offers the experience, serving a rotating selection of sushi and fresh fish in timed sessions with limited seating and reservations required. While it’s unclear if the new Bellevue location will follow the same format as Renton’s, guests can follow the restaurant on social media for updates.
Takai by Kashiba offers a premium Edomae-style omakase in downtown Bellevue, while Minamoto Japanese Cuisine serves a refined multi-course experience. The upcoming Fujiwara will join the city’s growing lineup of omakase spots.
What Now Seattle reached out to the Fujiwara Omakase team, however, they have not yet responded. This article may be updated.
