Earlier this year, What Now Boston reported that Italian restaurant chain Tuscan Kitchen had closed its Burlington location, leaving locals curious about what would take its place. Now, more details have emerged.

A representative for Tuscan Brands confirmed that a new Italian concept will take over the 2400 District Ave space, though the company wishes to keep the name confidential for now.

A BCAT News report mentions that the upcoming concept will shift from Tuscan Kitchen’s heartier fare to focus on a lighter, more modern approach to Italian cuisine.

Inside, the restaurant will undergo minor renovations under an insignificant change permit, so it doesn’t require Planning Board approval. The exterior, however, will get a full facelift, giving the restaurant a fresh, contemporary look.

Currently under construction, the new concept is slated to debut in early January 2026. In the meantime, Tuscan Brands encourages Veterans Day guests to visit their Boston or Salem, New Hampshire locations and has arranged complimentary parking for veterans through its Boston developer.
