Friedman’s has a Tribeca location in the works at 378 Greenwich St., as recently reported by What Now New York. The team had planned to bring a location of its newer Italian concept Casa Louie to the adjacent space at the same address, but they have since changed course. Instead, the team will bring their sushi concept Suram Sushi + Ramen to the shared space alongside Friedman’s.
Tribeca Citizen reports that co-owner Jonah Phillips said that Suram Sushi + Ramen would work better than Casa Louie from an operational standpoint within the space.
Suram Sushi + Ramen debuted in 2021 on the Upper West Side. It now has two additional locations open in Hudson Yards and Herald Square. The menu features a variety of choices for ramen, sushi and sashimi, with options for purchasing chef’s choice entrees with a selection of sushi and sashimi pieces. Appetizers include edamame, miso soup, shishito pepper and chicken karaage. The beverage program offers sake, wine and beer.
An opening timeline for both Friedman’s and Suram Sushi + Ramen in the Tribeca space remains unclear.
The Friedman’s location opening next door to Suram Sushi will be the eighth location for the brand. It serves a fully gluten-free menu.
