Osha Mookata, a Thai-style hot pot and BBQ restaurant, is getting ready to open in Scarborough at 390 Silver Star Boulevard.

The restaurant is set to move into a new space next to Evana Pâtisserie & Café, according to YourCityWithin. While an official opening date has not yet been announced, signage is already posted on the building. A representative from the restaurant tells What Now Toronto that this concept will be a corporate-owned brand under Accbencis Group. Customers can expect a traditional mookata dining format, which blends tabletop grilling with hot pot cooking for a customizable meal experience.

Osha Mookata is the latest launch from Accencis Group, a Canadian food and beverage company that owns and operates a growing portfolio of more than 10 brands and over 100 locations across Canada and Mexico. Its portfolio includes % Arabica Canada and Mexico, The Captain’s Boil, Midori Ramen, Dear Saigon, Bakebe, and Pears Restaurant. The company is also preparing to debut Altitude, a new premium indoor golf club concept, with its first location set to open soon in Markham. Accencis Group confirmed that it is the owner of Osha Mookata and that the concept will not be franchised at this time.

The menu at Osha Mookata is expected to highlight thinly sliced meats, marinated proteins, seafood, vegetables, and noodles cooked directly at the table. Diners will be able to choose between grilling on the mookata dome or simmering ingredients in broth, offering flexibility for different preferences. The interactive setup reflects the traditional Thai mookata experience and is designed to support group dining and social meals.

Accencis Group has positioned Osha Mookata as part of its broader strategy to bring international dining formats to Canadian markets. The company’s emphasis on brand innovation and operational support has guided the expansion of its existing concepts, which collectively span a variety of cuisines and service models. With the addition of Osha Mookata, the group continues to broaden its presence in the Greater Toronto Area.

“Osha Mookata is a vibrant fusion restaurant specializing in a unique mix of hot pot and Thai-style BBQ (Mookata),” according to the restaurant. “Combining rich broths, fresh ingredients, and sizzling grilled meats, it offers a flavourful dining experience where guests can cook their own food at the table. With a cozy yet lively atmosphere, Osha Mookata is the perfect spot for friends and family to enjoy a fun, interactive meal packed with bold flavours.”
