Chop Steakhouse & Bar is bringing its upscale dining experience to Markham.

The steakhouse operates 20 locations across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Nova Scotia, with an additional location in Coconut Grove, Fla.

“Rooted in more than twenty years of hospitality, Chop brings a bold, modern energy to the classic steakhouse experience. We fuse premium ingredients, thoughtful design, and welcoming hospitality to create an atmosphere that’s elevated yet approachable,” the website reads.

Led by Chef Stephen Clark, Chop is known for its premium steak cuts, seasoned with Old Chicago steak spice and seared at 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit on a Montague grill to create what the restaurant calls the “perfect crust.”

The menu also features crowd favorites such as the avocado super bowl, made with fresh greens, avocado, crispy chickpeas, candied pumpkin seeds and cauliflower rice, then finished with avocado-lime vinaigrette. Other offerings include slow-roasted prime rib seasoned with rock salt, cracked pepper, Dijon mustard, fresh rosemary and thyme, as well as a wild mushroom and goat cheese dip served with truffle honey and garlic crostini.

Guests can enjoy a curated selection of cocktails and wines chosen to complement the fare.

The steakhouse has yet to announce an official opening date or location, but its website reads “Coming soon.”
