Cineplex has confirmed plans to open a new Playdium in Vaughan at 1 Bass Pro Mills Drive.
The new location will span more than 24,000 square feet within Vaughan Mills, according to Retail Insider. Construction is already underway, with an opening targeted for Summer 2026. This will be the fifth Playdium location in Canada and the largest to date. Customers can expect a mix of games and attractions, along with a full food and beverage menu.
Playdium’s Vaughan Mills location will offer more than 70 games and attractions, including arcade games, wall climbing, a ropes course, duckpin bowling, and Gel Blasters Nexus, a team-based activity. Private rooms will be available for birthday parties, corporate events, team outings, and group celebrations, providing spaces for both casual dining and social gatherings.
The menu emphasizes casual, crowd-pleasing options that pair well with a day of gaming and entertainment. Customers can choose from burgers, pizza, poutine, sandwiches, nachos, fries, and sweet treats, alongside a selection of beverages. The combination of food and entertainment is designed to accommodate families, groups, and casual visitors seeking a full day of activities.
Playdium is owned and operated by Cineplex, led by President and CEO Ellis Jacob. The brand is part of Cineplex’s broader location-based entertainment portfolio, which also includes The Rec Room and Cineplex Junxion. The original Playdium opened in Mississauga, and modernized locations now operate in Whitby, Brampton, Dartmouth, and Toronto’s CF Fairview Mall.
Vaughan Mills, which opened in 2004 and is managed by JLL Canada on behalf of Ivanhoé Cambridge, offers a high-traffic environment with more than 220 retailers. This makes it an ideal location for Playdium’s largest site, combining a diverse shopping destination with a full-service entertainment and dining experience for all ages.
