Pub Fiction, a neighborhood pub and live music restaurant, is closing in its current form with plans to relaunch and rebrand in Hamilton at 1242 Garner Road West.

The Ancaster-based restaurant has confirmed it will wrap up operations as customers know it at the end of 2025, according to a message shared on social media. Pub Fiction has operated at the Garner Road location for 12 years and has remained open through road construction, economic challenges, and the pandemic. The business is scheduled to close on December 31 and reopen on January 9, 2026. Customers can expect a new bar and restaurant concept, with additional details to be announced.

Over the years, Pub Fiction has become a familiar gathering spot for locals, offering a casual pub environment paired with a steady lineup of live music. The restaurant regularly features performances by local musicians on several nights each week. Its longevity in the area has helped it establish a loyal base of regular customers. The announcement signals a shift rather than a full departure from the location.

The menu at Pub Fiction centers on traditional pub fare, including shareable appetizers, burgers, chicken wings, wood-fired pizzas, nachos, and other comfort-focused items. The bar features 19 beers on tap, along with two bar areas, one of which highlights Scotch, bourbon, and whisky selections.

Initially operating as Pub Fiction Gasbar and Grill, the restaurant positioned itself as a community-focused pub combining food, drinks, and live entertainment. While the new concept has not yet been revealed, the team has confirmed it will reopen as a new bar and restaurant early in 2026.

“After 12 years, it’s time to close this chapter. Thank you to the regulars, the first timers, the musicians, the staff, and everyone who made this place feel alive night after night. We’re so grateful for the time we shared here. Now on to the next chapter for 2026 as we rebrand, entering a new partnership and reopening as a new bar and restaurant very early in the year.”
