Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is undergoing a major transformation that will ultimately give passengers more options and comfort while traveling through Arizona’s largest and busiest airport.
Some upgrades that will improve the passenger experience include an expansion of Terminal 3 that will include adding new gates, lounges, an outdoor terrace, and a tunnel connection to Terminal 4. Terminal 4 will get a new hotel, and the Sky Train will expand its reach. In addition, the airport has announced it is expanding its restaurant, bar, and shopping options — with many representing local chefs and restaurateurs.
The Phoenix Aviation Advisory Board approved SSP America to operate six new bars and restaurants at the airport, located at 3400 Sky Harbor Boulevard. According to a spokesperson for the airport, a completion date has not been announced for these establishments. Restaurants coming to the airport include:
Greenwood Brewing – If you’re traveling through Phoenix and want a true taste of the city, Greenwood Brewing will provide freshly brewed, local beers to this new taproom.
Cactus & Cow Burger Bar – Chef Mark Tarbell, who owns several restaurants and wine shops around Phoenix, brings a new burger concept to Sky Harbor.
Ingo’s – Hi Noon Hospitality will open a third location of its restaurant that served salads, sandwiches, and more.
The Farm at South Mountain – This hidden gem of a farm brings a bit of the outdoors to airport life, serving farm-to-table fare to busy travelers.
Morning Glory Café – This shop will offer coffees, omelets, and more.
The Bar at PHX – The Bar will provide cocktails and more to airport passengers.
HMS Host will also operate several restaurants at the airport, including The Macintosh, The Mexicano by Chef Joey, and The Collins Small Batch Kitchen.
