Locals are bringing a new coffee shop experience to the suburb next month.
Frunchroom Collective has been taking to social media to announce their new coffee shop coming to 1193 S Milwaukee Avenue. This is at the Greentree Plaza shopping center, and it is a project owner Ivy Sukenik has been planning for about a year. Sukenik told What Now Chicago the opening date is set for Feb. 17.
Typical coffees and lattes and be expected at the cafe, as well as teas and smoothies. Sukenik is partnering with Tala Coffee Roasters out of Libertyville to provide some of the drinks. Guests will also be served pastries, cookies, and breakfast sandwiches.
The space is meant to build community, with housing a coffee shop, event space and wellness studio. The wellness studio will host movement and meditation classes, “offering a calm, light-filled environment to reset your mind and body.”
Sukenik is also the principal at Sunset Ridge School in Northfield, and she has a passion for coffee on the side. This is her first venture into the cafe/hospitality industry. She and staff have been met with much excitement from the community.
“The local community is great,” Sukenik said.
The coffee spot is going in the south side of the plaza on Milwaukee Avenue. This is in between Burt’s Deli and Viet Taste Libertyville. In a recent social media post, there was significant progress being made inside including on the bar top.
The opening date is at the coffee shop at 10 a.m. on Feb. 17. For more information on the opening, visit their Instagram @frunchroomcollective.
