The company selling premium coffee around Chicago is bringing a third location to the busy downtown.
Ground Up Coffee is getting ready to debut their shop next month at 140 S Dearborn Street in The Loop. This will be a prime location for those commuting to work. Owner Alexander Theoharis told What Now Chicago he is hoping to open by the second week of February.
“We’re getting closer to opening our doors, and we can’t wait to serve commuters, downtown workers and city explorers your favorite handcrafted drinks and fresh, handmade bites,” says the recent post.
Ground Up Coffee is already located at 900 W Van Buren Street in West Loop and at 363 W Erie Street in River North. The original West Loop shop opened in 2017, and it became a destination for serving groceries during the pandemic, per an article from Block Club Chicago. Since then, the coffee company has seen growth and is now stepping into a new neighborhood.
The cafes have a full menu of lattes, cappuccinos and cold brew options. For food items, their spinach & feta and ham & cheese hand-pies are popular options. While the company sells their coffee and serves brews at their cafes, they also have sold merch in the past like a vintage corduroy cap.
The new coffee shop will be in the heart of The Loop, and at the same building is Corner Bakery Cafe. The Marq American fare restaurant is also attached to the building on W Adams Street.
More information on the opening date for the new shop will be released on their Instagram page in the coming days.
