Coconut Grove — are you ready for Levain Bakery‘s viral chocolate chip cookies?
New York-based Levain Bakery recently filed permits with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation for a bakery to be located at 2979 McFarlane Road.
A spokesperson for the bakery confirmed the news, adding, “Levain Bakery, a 30-year-old bakery renowned for its big, beloved cookies will open in Coconut Grove, Florida this fall. More details will be shared in coming months.”
New York City-born Levain Bakery is known for its giant chocolate chip walnut cookies that are soft on the inside and crisp around the edges. The cookies are a celebrity favorite, with big names like Kylie Jenner, Giada De Laurentiis, and even Taylor Swift singing their praises.
Levain was founded in 1995 by Connie McDonald and Pam Weekes, who opened the first location on New York City’s Upper West Side as a bread shop. The two partners started baking cookies and quietly started selling them in the store. The cookies instantly became a hit.
Today, Levain has grown with multiple bakeries around New York, Washington D.C., Beverly Hills, Chicago, and Boston. Currently there are no Levain Bakery locations in Miami, although Levain did pop up in the Magic City back in 2021 to rave reviews.
In addition to cookies, Levain bakes artisanal bread, pastries, brioche, and more. They also offer national shipping, in case your cookie cravings can’t wait.
