Proving you can never have too much of a good thing, a popular Alabama-based chain is bringing even more delicious barbecue to Memphis-area diners. Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q is currently constructing a new home in Olive Branch, its second location in the region, reports Commercial Appeal.
The restaurant will be making its Mississippi debut at 8401 McGregor Crossing. The brand-new building will be a neighbor to a Lowe’s and a Guthrie’s. An opening timeline for Jim ‘N Nick’s inaugural DeSoto County location is not yet available, however construction is progressing steadily. What Now Memphis has reached out to leadership and will update readers as information becomes available.
Jim ‘N Nick’s served up its first plate of barbecue in Alabama in 1985. The chain has expanded to 61 locations, though only one of those storefronts is in the greater Memphis area-a restaurant located in Cordova. Jim ‘N Nick’s impending Olive Branch home is certain to be a welcome addition to the community, allowing Memphis area diners a new opportunity to enjoy the chain’s signature fare.
The concept still utilizes the “low and slow” techniques and recipe that founders Nick and Jim Pihakis launched the brand with 41 years ago. The meat-forward menu has consistently delighted visitors thanks to Jim ‘N Nick’s ethos towards its cuisine: “bar-b-q is more than meat and sauce. It’s our heritage. And it’s the coming together of genuine people who have a passion for food that warms the soul and the desire to go the extra mile”
