A great spot for high-quality hand rolls, small plates, and sushi is going out of business. Hello Temaki, located on Laguna Springs Drive in Elk Grove, will close this weekend.
Hello Temaki Restaurant to Close in Elk Grove
Hello Temaki will permanently close on February 28, 2026. The restaurant suddenly announced the decision on social media a few days back without citing any reason. Guests can visit through Saturday during regular business hours.
While thanking the community, the restaurant mentioned, “We are so grateful to have been able to serve such a wonderful community, and we owe many thanks to those who have supported us!”
This temaki-style sushi concept brought something fresh to the Laguna Springs corridor. The menu is known for hand rolls, nigiri, sashimi, sake selections, and a variety of small Japanese plates. The restaurant focused on serving authentic Japanese cuisine in a contemporary setting.

What’s Next for the Space
While the closure marks the end of Hello Temaki’s run, a new concept is already in the works for the space. Kai Japanese Cuisine is planning a debut in Elk Grove. The restaurant is expected to open in the coming months. An official opening date has not been announced yet.
Jing and Rong Chen, the husband-and-wife duo behind the concept, have initiated the paperwork with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. The menu is expected to feature a range of Japanese staples, with a focus on sushi. Here are the updates about the upcoming concept.
While loyal customers may miss Hello Temaki, the upcoming opening signals continued activity in Elk Grove’s dining scene.
