Chicago deep dish is not just a delicacy in the city as the chain is expanding to a new suburb this year.
Lou Malnati’s recently announced their newest location is coming to St. Charles at 3050 E Main Street on the city’s east side. This will be one of their larger restaurants, with capacity for around 200 guests, a bar and outdoor patio. From a release, the company is hoping to open sometime this fall.
“We’ve had customers from St. Charles asking us to open a location here for years. The growth and redevelopment happening on the east end of the city makes this the perfect time, and we can’t wait to bring people together over deep dish in this community with a full-service restaurant,” said Julie Younglove-Webb, CEO of Lou Malnati’s in the release.
Locations serve a variety of Chicago deep dish, including the Deep Dish Triple Pepp loaded with pepperoni slices, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. They also offer thin crust options, salads and appetizers like wings and bruschetta. A drink menu for the bar has not been released.
The company originally opened ni 1971 and has since been growing regionally and nationally, with around 60 locations in Chicagoland alone. The closest Lou Malnati’s locations are in Aurora and Elgin. No other Chicagoland restaurants have been announced yet.
The new deep dish spot is opening on the northside of Route 64 near Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant. It will join the upcoming Fox Haven Square, a new development with 70,000 square feet of retail space set to debut this spring. An On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina location used to be at the address.
What Now Chicago has reached out to Lou Malnati’s and is awaiting comment.
