A young but thriving Memphis burger joint is packing up its fryers and heading to a new home. After shutting its doors on Thomas Street, Bandos is getting ready for a fresh start on Poplar Avenue.

The eatery was operating out of 862 Thomas Street until late last year. Bandos announced its move via Facebook post, where it established the restaurant’s new address-260 Poplar Avenue-and stated that it will be opening soon.

While “opening soon” may be a bit nebulous-and not soon enough-for Bandos’s passionate fanbase, various indicators suggest that the concept will be ready to serve up its delicious cuisine relatively soon. Bandos posted a call for staff applicants via social media-a good sign that it is gearing up to open its doors in the near future.

Bandos additionally has a certificate of occupancy being reviewed by the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development as of February 10. The paperwork establishes that the restaurant’s new home will span 1,836 square feet.

The Bandos menu features a selection of comfort food favorites. Customers can look forward to sinking their teeth into a range of wings, alongside burgers, fries, tacos, and nachos. The restaurant even offers a little taste of the City of Brotherly Love on its small but delicious Memphis Philly menu, featuring options like the Philly steak combo and the buffalo ranch chicken Philly combo.

What Now Memphis has reached out to ownership for further opening details and will update readers as information becomes available.
