A new cookie and coffee shop, Please and Thank You, is opening in Cherry Creek, first reported by The Denver Post. Known for selling some of the best cookies in Kentucky, the upcoming bakery and cafe is opening on 2908 E Sixth Ave., formerly housing Maggie and Molly’s Bakery, which closed at the end of 2025 as a result of a tax dispute with the City of Denver.
Please and Thank You owner Brooke Vaughn initially started her business in Louisville, Kentucky as a full cafe with a handful of lunch options and a variety of pastries. Shortly after she opened in 2011, demand for her cookies, in particular, shot through the roof after high praise from various outlets, including Southern Living and USA Today, which identified Please and Thank You as the makers of the best cookies in Kentucky.
Vaughn sells her cookies out of four physical locations in Kentucky, two in her home state of Indiana and an online store. Please and Thank You is now expanding to Denver, following Vaughn, who moved to Denver five years ago.
Please and Thank You does have a wide variety of cookies and other pastries, but you should start with the chocolate chip cookie that placed it on the map, in its traditional or gluten-free form. You can also buy ready-to-bake tubes of cookie dough (do not eat it raw). Wash down their cookies, (which you baked at a food-safe temperature) with one of their drinks, like their iced Laura Palmer, a play on the Arnold Palmer with the store’s own black tea and mint.
Please and Thank You is set to open in the next few months, please and thank you.
