A young and exciting hospitality concern is assembling the team for its next DC venture. Ten Five Hospitality has already planted a flag in the District with its western-themed bar, Desert 5 Spot, and is actively hiring for its next project, a brand-new concept called The Oak Room, reports local media outlet PoPville.

The restaurant is taken over at the space at 1218 Wisconsin Ave, NW previously occupied by El Centro. The latter concept closed its doors in June of 2025 and the space has been awaiting its next occupant ever since.

The Oak Room is still a bit of a mystery; what little information is available about the restaurant comes primarily from a post on the Culinary Agents job site. The call for candidates states that The Oak Room will be a restaurant and lounge, designed to offer an “elevated dining experience”-not a great deal of information, but surely enough to stoke interest in local foodies.

The full scope of The Oak Room will be revealed in the not-too-distant future. A notice posted on the restaurant’s door states that it will be opening at some point this spring. What Now DC has reached out to Ten Five Hospitality and will update readers as information becomes available.
