The Burleson dining scene is bidding adieu to tacos but welcoming chicken. A local Taco Casa will soon be converted into a Church’s Chicken according to recently filed paperwork.

The transformation will be happening at 205 NE Wilshire Boulevard. The form filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows that the storefront spans 2,000 square feet. While dates cited on TDLR paperwork are estimates and not definitive, they do allow a general development timeline. Work is supposed to start on the restaurant on May 11 of this year and should wrap by September 30. Should these dates prove accurate, Burleson diners may be able to stop into Church’s at some point this autumn.

Church’s Chicken began serving customers in San Antonio in 1952. It has become a fan favorite thanks to its menu of “crispy, hand-crafted chicken served with a side of Texas pride.” Diners can enjoy their chicken as tenders, wraps, or sandwiches alongside extras including fries, fried okra, and macaroni and cheese.
