Get ready for a Tex-Mex option just north of the city’s second major airport.
Taco Works, which operates Taco Rico in Florida, is planning a new taco spot at 3800 S Cicero Avenue near Midway International Airport. The company is also planning future expansion in the Chicago area. Owner Vipul Soni told What Now Chicago he is hoping to launch the concept in the next 45 days.
“Best Tex Mex north of the border,” says the description on their Instagram page.
Soni has previously been behind a franchised Wing Snob location in Romeoville. While he is the owner of the new Taco Works location, he is also the area sales representative for the company. He is planning expansion for the company, and has not revealed where other restaurants will open.
The team recently released the menu items at the new location, which includes a lunch menu, bowls and salads, quesadillas, burritos and taco platters. The taco platters are one of their signatures, with birria, al pastor and steak chimichurri flavors on the menu. Fajitas are also options with proteins like chicken, steak and shrimp.
The taco spot is coming to the west side of Cicero Avenue, close to the on-ramp for Interstate 55. A Gas N Wash and Dunkin’ are also at this plaza. This is just a short drive north of Midway.
Soni said he will be providing a more firm opening date as construction progresses.
