A Virginia restaurant group is helping to shape the future of an upcoming mixed-use development. Eat Restaurant Partners is bringing a new sports bar concept to the Diamond District-though locals still have a wait before the restaurant reveals all its secrets, reports Richmond BizSense.

The as-of-yet unnamed restaurant will be one part of a sprawling development ultimately set to span 67 acres next to the CarMax Park ballfield. The sports bar will be moving into a retail building which will be erected next to the venue’s main centerfield entrance.

The building will span a total of 20,000 square feet, with around a quarter of that space dedicated to the new restaurant. Locals will need to exercise a little patience; construction is on deck to begin in 2027 and to be completed in 2028.

Eat Restaurant Partners are bringing a wealth of experience to the project; the hospitality group has launched several successful concepts, including Wong’s Tacos, Lucky Asian Fusion, and Boulevard Burger & Brew, showing the team has serious range. The newest endeavor will be a sports bar and grill, so likely heavily focused on American cuisine.

Speaking of the upcoming concept, Eat Restaurant Partners expressed enthusiasm on a social media post, saying: “Big things are coming soon to Richmond, and we’re excited to be a part of it. The continued growth around the Diamond District and CarMax Park is helping shape an incredible new community hub for RVA filled with entertainment, hospitality, food, and culture. As a Richmond-based restaurant group, we’re proud to grow alongside a city that continues to invest in experiences that bring people together.”

Eat Restaurant Partners President Chris Tsui further added that the hospitality professionals are “thankful to be picked to do a sports bar concept to complement CarMax Park and the Diamond District. We are going to deliver a premier experience so that Richmonders can enjoy their favorite sports, year-round, next door to the best (Minor League Baseball) ballpark in the country!”
