Bump Coffee, a specialty coffee roaster known for organic beans, handcrafted beverages, and empanadas, is preparing to open a new location in Carlsbad at 2621 Roosevelt Street in Carlsbad Village.
The company’s new location is set to open within the retail component of The Roosevelt development, according to filings with the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. The space is part of a mixed-use project that includes residential units and ground-floor retail along Roosevelt Alley, a pedestrian plaza. While an exact opening date has not been announced, The Roosevelt is under construction with delivery expected in early 2027, according to project materials. Customers can expect Bump Coffee’s core menu of organic coffee, espresso-based drinks, and empanadas.
The Roosevelt is a mixed-use development combining residential living and neighborhood retail in Carlsbad Village. It includes 25 luxury residential units and multiple retail suites for food-and-beverage tenants. The project is being developed by FABRIC, a North County San Diego-based firm focused on community-oriented spaces. The ground-floor retail is centered around a walkable plaza designed to support dining and gathering.
Bump Coffee is known for small-batch roasted coffee and a streamlined menu focused on quality sourcing. Offerings include single-origin beans such as Todos Santos, Natural Nayarit, Basilio Reserva, and Bali Blue Moon, as well as decaf and seasonal selections. The company also sells merch, gift cards, and catering through its online platform.
The Carlsbad Village location adds a coastal presence to the brand’s Southern California footprint. The area includes independent cafes, retail shops, and destination dining that attract both locals and visitors year-round. Its proximity to the beach and hospitality corridor supports steady daytime traffic.
The cafe menu will feature espresso drinks, brewed coffee, and grab-and-go items, with empanadas as a signature food offering. Bump Coffee emphasizes organic sourcing and small-batch roasting, with beans available for retail purchase in-store and online. The concept functions as both a neighborhood cafe and a retail coffee hub.
Once open, the cafe will join other food-and-beverage tenants planned for The Roosevelt, including Native Poppy, which is also expected to open in the development. The project emphasizes walkability and outdoor gathering space, supporting casual coffee service throughout the day.
