Atrevida Beer Co. announced it will close its Colorado Springs location on June 28, marking eight years of operations. The establishment plans to celebrate its farewell with the community and is offering great deals for its final weeks of operation.
Atrevida Beer Co. Preparing for Last Call
A local favorite brewery, Atrevida Beer Co., was founded by husband-and-wife duo Jessica “Jess” Fierro and Rich Fierro. It became a well-known Latino-owned brewery in Colorado, serving craft beers and taproom snacks.
The brewery was awarded the 2024 Hispanic Veteran-Owned Business of the Year by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, according to Fox21 News. In 2023, the brewery also received the Brewers Association Recognition Award.
The brewery team shared the heartbreaking news of its closure on social media. The team wrote, “After many years of shared laughter, late nights, and clinking glasses, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to close our brewery.”
“Our last day of operations will be June 28th, but leading up, we’re going to be doing tons of events EVERY DAY and even extending our taproom hours to Wed–Sun 3–9 p.m., so stay tuned!” stated the team.

Apart from the extended hours, the brewery will also host an “ALL-OUT Atrevida Adios Party” on June 20. The event will take place from 3–9 p.m. and will offer Mariachi, food, a DJ night, and beer.
The Atrevida team encourages the Colorado community to visit the brewery and enjoy their favorite drink before it closes permanently.
In the post, the team shared an emotional note: “For now, we want to stress that Atrevida has always been more than just beer. It’s about the non-profits we’ve partnered with, the cultural education events, and the curation of a safe and judgment-free environment. But most importantly, it’s about the community we serve.”
Brewery to Close After Impact of Club Q Nightclub Tragedy
The brewery owner, Jess Fierro, and family faced a horrible tragedy on November 19, 2022. According to a Brewbound report, a tragic shooting took place at Club Q in Colorado Springs. Five people lost their lives in the mass shooting.
Co-owner Rich Fierro, an Army veteran, helped to stop the gunman. The tragedy left a lasting impact on his family. Rich’s daughter, Kassy, suffered a broken knee, and her boyfriend, 22-year-old Raymon Green Vance, was among those killed.
Following the tragedy, the brewery was shut down temporarily. After it was reopened, the community showed overwhelming support. On the Atrevida website, the brewery has mentioned, “Thank you for your overwhelming support after the mass shooting at Club Q on 19 NOV ’22 in Colorado Springs. Our family is humbled by all of your kind words and actions.”
In the closure announcement post, the Atrevida team shared, “We are so grateful for those who chose to spend their time with us, for the regulars who became like family, and for our dedicated team who poured their hearts into every pint for the past eight years. You’ve shown up for Team Atrevida in times of crisis and triumphs, and we couldn’t be more thankful for that.”
As Atrevida Beer Co. prepares for its final goodbye, the team hopes to celebrate its eight-year legacy with the Colorado dining and drinking community.
