Downtown Kennesaw pizzeria Pisano’s will be expanding to a second location this summer. It will open at 35 North Park Square in Marietta Square. Owner Michael Judvytis told What Now Atlanta that they are aiming to open in early July.

Pisano’s opened in downtown Kennesaw in 2012 and has since become a neighborhood pizzeria in the area. Initially, Judvytis was not looking to expand the Pisano’s concept, but when a space became available next door to Willie Rae’s Social House, which the Pisano’s team acquired within the past few years, it seemed like a prime opportunity for expansion.

“We decided it would be a perfect collaboration. A lot of people in Marietta will drive to Kennesaw to have our pizza and experience our friendly customer service, our patio and our live music,” Judvytis said. “Now the circumstances are right, so we had the idea of bringing Pisano’s to Marietta Square. We want to continue to do what made us successful in Kennesaw in Marietta Square.”

Pisano’s will take over a 1,500-square-foot space along Marietta Square. Amid the preparation to open the spot in Marietta, the team will also redesign Willie Rae’s, transforming the two concepts into a synergistic joint space. The new design will feature an atmosphere reminiscent of a Brooklyn pizzeria with touches such as exposed brick and a mural. There will also be a stage for live music and karaoke, as well as an outdoor patio.

Pisano’s offers an extensive variety of pizzas whole and by the slice, ranging from flavors like Hickory BBQ to Chicken Alfredo. The restaurant also serves calzones, sandwiches, pasta dishes, beer, wine and craft drinks. At the Marietta location, the menu will likely be slightly different, offering some unique pizza flavors, pasta dishes and potentially some brunch pizza options to complement brunch at Willie Rae’s.

Moving forward, Judvytis is aiming to make Marietta’s location another neighborhood staple, similar to how Pisano’s has embedded itself in the Kennesaw community.

“We want to keep Pisano’s local since it’s always been known as a neighborhood restaurant,” Judvytis said. “We want to focus on the Kennesaw and Marietta areas.”
