Dick’s Sporting Goods is preparing to expand its House of Sport concept to Colorado, with plans for a new location in Thornton.
The new location will be at the Larkridge Shopping Center at 16521 Washington street, and will occupy a 90,000-square-foot space according to the Denver Business Journal.
The new store is expected to open in August or early September.
Among its offerings, the new location will include indoor golf simulators, batting cages and a climbing wall. In addition the store will also feature the brand’s ‘House of Cleats’, offering an expanded selection of footwear for a variety of sports.
This specific concept made its debut in 2021 at Dick’s Sporting Goods’ hometown store in Johnson City, New York, and has grown steadily ever since. This concept continues to grow, with 16 locations opened in 2025 and roughly 14 additional stores planned this year.
The retail giant was founded in 1948, and operates hundreds of locations across the US offering sporting equipment, athletic apparel, and outdoor gear.
