Plans are underway for Floor & Decor to take over the former Safeway location at 1653 S. Colorado Blvd in Denver.

The site became available after Safeway closed the store earlier this year.

According to Naked Denver, Floor & Decor plans to renovate the existing 50,048-square-foot retail space. The proposed project does not include any changes to the building’s footprint or intended use.

The renovation will involve interior demolition, including the removal of the rear equipment mezzanine, portions of the concrete slab, partitions, plumbing fixtures, and electrical systems. Some exterior work will be done too.

The opening date has not been determined yet.
